FIC: The Pure and Simple Truth

hd_remix. I'm . . . not putting the header here because lots of people said they wouldn't have read it, based on the header. Guess plotless gen is a turn off? Or something.
Even though I remixed a Harry/Draco fic, this story is mostly gen in a lot of ways. There isn’t any sex, it’s mostly about a bunch of friends getting together, and the romance there is is more about friendship than romance.
Sometimes when I write Harry Potter fic, I wonder what I’m trying to achieve. When I wrote this fic, I felt like I’d achieved it. I don’t mean that I won’t write HP fic again or anything; I just mean I could quit satisfied now, and I never could have before. I’ve rarely written something that’s made me quite so happy.
The story I remixed mentioned Gryffindor and Slytherin Houses had become friends—I wanted to know why and how. The only story I could come up with was about a bunch of people trying their absolute very best in a better world than this one.
So, I guess this story is about friendship, effort, and forgiveness. There aren’t any warnings, but the link takes you to the header for credits and notes.
