I took six days off to finish my book. I worked non-stop on it. Then I worked for 8 days straight, complete with Star Trek practice in evenings. Today is my first day off in what feels like forever.

And that's not as exciting as the next chapter of CAPTIVE PRINCE.

Man. WIPs are so much fun.

Comment with a summary or an idea for a fic you think I would never, ever write, and I will try to reply with a snippet from that fic. There is something paradoxical in this idea. I can't figure out what.

Any fandom or no fandom is fine.

I'm sort of being a delinquent by 1) well, not working on finishing the book, and 2) not answering comments, but I will. One thing I was hoping to do once a) I finish the book, b) I finish posting The Way Down, and c) I finish writing Sick of Shadows, was d) actually finish Another One Like It Tomorrow, which is a Buffy/Angel fic I started way back when.

So I started reading a chunk of it today and . . . and. It's Angel/Spike, Angel/Doyle, Angel/Riley, Angel/Giles, Angel/Buffy, and . . . wow, this whole boatload of things that aren't even my kinks, like say, oh, bloodplay. The craziest part of all of this was it was . . . well, I really liked it and think it's still viable. I'm going to trim down the whole thing and give it some overall shape, but I'm sort of excited to post it all.

The other part that really startled me is how much I love Angel/Spike. I love it. And I loved writing it. I just want to keep writing it and writing it and writing it. And then I realized how I never really wrote it, just in this fic and sort of gen-like hints in Man's Best Friend (which I do want to finish, but um. I wrote that whole fic right in the posting window and never really thought about anything beyond the next word.)

If anyone on my flist is from BtVS any more, will you give me Angel/Spike prompts? To play with when I'm done. With everything. Of course. *bookmarks lynnenne's new stuff to read.*

Okay, so I'm not done writing the book. So I probably shouldn't be posting to DW. But I'm going to finish it, and while it probably isn't what I would have planned for my first published novel, there are some good things in it, I think. And I'm going to finish it. It's totally premature to make a celebration post, but I need something to look forward to. So, there's this!

This is that Guy of Gisborne fic I mentioned. People say a good story needs no excuse, but this isn't a good story so here are a couple of excuses.

The main one is I'm not sure why I wrote this. I think it's something to do with thinking this show and this character is icky, which caused me odd shame in finding RA attractive? But it might also have to do with wanting to experiment with PoV: what happens when you're locked in an icky brain with icky things going on in an icky time period? However, if that were the case, I should've tried harder to write something really good--perhaps something more dense and complex, which asks the reader to contemplate these things more thoroughly--I don't know, something like Lolita, which explores something icky rather effectively, thank you.

But I wasn't thinking when I wrote it. I just wrote it, and it came out like crack. And while I may write porn or any number of enjoyable cracky things in that manner: what follows are not my kinks. Maybe I find it so morbid that it's fascinating?

At any rate, I probably shouldn't post it--for one thing, it's unfinished (though I think it works as a character story), and for another, it's something I dashed off. At 14,000 words, that sounds a little unbelievable, but, er, it's true. But I promised myself I could post something, and I don't have any other posts ready-made to hand--the WIPs all being in various states of disarray--so I shrug. Here it is.
