1) I think sometimes we all forget the internet is for porn. It's a sad state of affairs. I hope one day our youth will grow up with the truth, instead of these lies about the internets being SRS BIZNESS. On that note:

2) Where is the Spike/Giles? Flist, I friended you for a reason. Don't let me down in my new housemate's time of need.

3) Have you seen the movie, The Godfather? Did you like it? Why? I understand that this movie is cleverly shot and superbly acted, but why is it so well-loved and famous? I mean, I know why I love it, but they do not seem to be reasons of the masses, forgive my gross stereotype. And why doesn't The Godfather have fandom? Why is it all these . . . non-fannish fans who don't write fanfiction and think no one in the stories can be gay? For that matter, why am I so fannish about it? I'd think it was a fluke, but turns out I was this obsessed before (in 2005 I wrote fic for it. I never forgot it, but I was kinda surprised when I thought about it when I started getting excited about reseeing the first movie). Lastly: WHERE IS THE TOM HAGEN LOVE?

Please, even if you've only just seen the first one in passing, lemme know what you think about it.

So this is something I've been wanting to do for a while now, and I hope y'all will all join in...

In comments to this post:
1. Pimp the story whose feedback most disappointed you. I don't mean your best story, or your worst story, or the story you guess could've been better. And I don't mean the story that got the least feedback. I mean the story that you thought would get more feedback, or felt should get more fb. The story for which you only got 2 reviews, and hoped you'd get 5, or the story you hoped would get 500, and only got 200. Even the story you wrote just so fandom would notice you--you included assbabies and kittens, just for those extra reviews--and then zada, zero, nil. Or 500, but not 20,000. Or even the one that got satisfying amounts of fb, but that you thought the Clem fans would flock to and the Clem fans ignored.
1a. Post a link to that story.
1b. Why’d you think it’d get more fb? What did you expect to appeal to and didn’t? Don’t be embarrassed to say how badass it was.
1c. Why d’you think it didn’t get that fb? Don’t be too proud to whine, complain, or feel sorry for yourself. Happens to the best of us, baby.

If you want:
2. Pimp a story by someone else you feel should’ve gotten more fb. Whether it’s a story you beta’ed, saw on your flist, or just randomly found. Again, not so much The Best Story Ever, as The Really Great Story No One Else Knows About.
2a. post a link or where to find the story.
2b. tell us about the praise/appeal of the story.
2c. tell us how under appreciated this person/story is.

3. Pimp this post. If there’s a lot, maybe I can compile and post a list of Unappreciated Gems Of Fandom, Which You Should Have Loved . . . For These Reasons.

Pimp yourself. Throw yourself a pity party. Ask why no one loved you. Or at least that one fic. I’m serious, here. Everyone has a fic they secretly cherish and feel sorry for, and occasionally pet with sparkly tears in their eyes . . . even if they never felt like they could ask the world why their little woobie story was so unloved. Now's your chance.

Pimp others, and offer them your hand so we can skip through the sunshine. Yes I am a fluffy mushlet; I don't care.

I'm invoking my official capacity as . . . Official Capacity Invoking Gal to declare this month the Month Of The OTP.

Because when some people think of B/A they think: they're so over. And when some people think of A/S they think: but they're not gay! And when some people think of S/X they think: I . . . I just don't get it. And when some people read B/F they think: I'm liking it and I don't even know why! And when some people read B/Gunn they think: hey! those two never even met!

And so I'm going to share my love for my own OTP. I have a bunch of bits floating around in my back up files (because my comp blew up) and in my head that're all about My Favorite Pairing: why I ship them, why I love them, things I think other people should know about them, recs I want and recs I want to give, what I hate about it, things I feel like whining about in regards to it.

I love B/A. I want others who love B/A to splooge with me in a cesspit of love. And I want others who don't love B/A to learn something about my love, or to grow to respect it, or to try a fic and discover they kinda like it or no, that they really hate it, or to point and laugh and say affectionately, oh, you silly B/Aers, we all know Snyder/Oz is the only ship worth squeeing over! I want those who don't love B/A to share their B/S love, or A/S love, or S/X love, or B/F love, or Snyder/Oz love, and teach me something about it, or romance me into loving it with them.

So I'm going to try to organize my B/A bits and share my love, because I'm nothing if not a great big old mushy . . . Mushy Gal. And because I doubt anyone else has been collecting OTP bits and wondering what to do with them like I have, or that anyone is going to say: this is a great idea tkp, let me go squee in my own journal right now (though I'm secretly hoping every one of you will, which is apparently no longer a secret), you can do it here.

Because I'm interested in you, your loves, your fic, your recs, your kinks, your complaints, your why doesn't anyone see the beauty of Lilah/Clem?s, your rants, your squees, your flames, your meta, your why I'm here in this fandom!s . . . and also because gosh darn it, I like you, and I want to like your 'ship too. )
