Say hello to my friend, [livejournal.com profile] imnotacommittee. I knew her way back when when I wankishly had another name and was writing The Sound of Music fanfic. She is funny, clever, risque, unfailingly kind, prone to puzzle over bad!fic with good!fic writers, prone to coming up with incredibly witty and sometimes naughty explanations and fillers for the quirks of canon, sparkling, adventurous, obsessive, a fan of Star Wars, someone you could talk to for hours and hours about the hangnail on your pinky, cute, and just plain cool. She hasn't watched BtVS/AtS, but one day I'm going to convert her (only she doesn't know it yet).

These days she's into Firefly. She just wrote a fic in the 'verse called Left Behind. It's post-Serenity ensemble gen, and she handles all the characters' voices well. It's a good solid fic that may tug at your heart or bring a tiny smile to your face. She's just informed me she's giving up everything Firefly for Lent, because she apparently has more self-control than I could ever manage. She might not respond within the next 40 days, but she'll get to you eventually.

Now I'm going to say what someone I admire very much said about me once: new people should be encouraged. Go encourage.

It's writing month in [livejournal.com profile] tkp's journal, because she likes talking about herself in the third person, and also because it's March and she has a fetish about themed months. Later there will be flowers (edelweiss), my usual monthly questions, hopefully fun discussions about writing and how we do it and how we make it better, interspersed with all the B/A bits I wanted to post in February but didn't get around to.

For now, I'm going to rant about con crit, that never ending debate, and I'm going to put on my bitch hat and my snooty gloves, and say exactly whatever I damn well please.

What constructive criticism means to me. )

On that note, this is completely my take on con crit and what it means to me. It's all about me me me, and I'm not telling a single one of you how to think or act or anything like that. In fact, the reason I'm putting it out there is I'd love to hear more opinions of others' in this never-ending, scintillating debate. You're free to offer up your own opinion. You're also free to debate, or try to change my mind. Just because I'm a cocky stuck-up asshole doesn't mean I'll try to force my opinion on you, or be rude to you, or call your mother a hamster. Really.
