I posted this fic about a month ago, unclean and unbeta'ed. Now, the goddess of my little fic world, [livejournal.com profile] germaine_pet, has helped me whip it into some shape (huzzah, whips!). She saved me from being Charles Dickens (who got paid per word), Angel from being Jane Austen and St. Augustine of Hippo and also Johnathan Edwards (who wasn't Catholic, but that's neither here nor there), and Faith from being Polyanna and also a Carebear (the one with a heart on his belly). Most of all she helped me be a better writer, for which I am eternally grateful.

So, if you missed it the first time (hint hint), or if you want to read the new and improved, here 'tis. I pasted the new version over the old version, so if you have this fic bookmarked or something, first of all: I love you for that, and secondly: your links are already updated.

I'm guessing it's a monthly thing. I have a word document titled "Questions and Concerns" on my hard drive, and I just keep adding to it. Sometimes these questions and concerns get addressed, and I delete them. Sometimes they drive me crazy. So I've posted them and people answered them and I got happy. And then the next day I had more questions. So, I'm just going to keep asking until people get tired of me ;o) If you're interested, thanks ahead of time for being my personal Radio Shacks.

About a month ago I had a bunch of questions. A bunch of people answered them, which made me happy, because now I feel a lot less ignorant. But I still have a lot of questions about lj and fandom. Almost all of them are opinion questions, because I'm interested in general consensus. I'm not looking for anyone to form my opinion for me, but it's nice knowing what other people think, especially if there's some sort of group opinion (again, not that I'd be swayed by group opinion). For instance, the question about Holtz? I'd be so comforted if a large body of people could answer "no" to that question.

A/N: I can't even begin to express how much [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom influenced this chapter. She guided me in turning it from something I hated into something that's bearable. Usually I don't ask questions in public settings. I'm shy and also very arrogant; I like to think I know stuff or can find out on my own. But these things have been bothering me, and while I think a few things might be answered by digging through people's old entries or some FAQs, I'd love some answers (and opinions. Some are about opinions. Not the one about Buffy's natural tufted treasure, though. That has to be fact).

A little while ago [livejournal.com profile] alleynyc pointed out that a lot of my details about NYC in chapter 1-3 were screwy in this fic. She did a lot of research, came up with several great ideas, and had me rolling on the floor with some of her suggestions. I've revised chapters 1-3 using the information and suggestions she was so kind as to provide for me, which led to some extremely minor changes in 3-6.

However, these changes will not be affecting the plot in any way, and if you don't feel like re-reading, you won't miss out on anything but better writing, Betty Boop, and a couple funny details (which really are the property of alleynyc). So, if you don't feel like ploughing through all this again, don't trouble yourself. However, if you do, I'm honored, and please please please tell me whether you think there's anything else that needs fixing. Once again, great big thanks to alleynyc.
