Because:

1) there are a billion other things I have to do right now.
2) Lindsey is one of my favorite characters, but I have few fic ideas for him. I want to work on his voice. Also, I should write more first person because I hate it like marmite on cockroaches.
3) I think [livejournal.com profile] nemo_gravis is awesome for keeping this organized, and [livejournal.com profile] mara_sho for making a web site. Thanks!
4) I fully expect my new music guru [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom to tell me music Lindsey would like. But not KANE because that's kinda lame.

70 Questions for Lindsey McDonald )

ETA: I'm an idiot who can't even spell the name of the character. Don't mind me. *whistles*

1. Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] violaclaire, who apparently, may share a birthday with Mary Queen of Scots.

2. Did you all know that NC-17 is supposed to mean (according to the MPAA) those under 17 and 17-yr-olds shouldn't be watching/reading? I always thought it was just those under 17.

3. I won an award! Best drama, for the IWRY Marathon, for my fic Bodiless Within The Bodies! And omigawd I got cool graphics! ). Thanks again to [livejournal.com profile] chrisleeoctaves, [livejournal.com profile] canadiangirl_86, and the three mystery readers.

4. Also thanks again to everyone who participated in the IWRY Marathon. I have not read all the stories yet, but I certainly mean to (and I know I'll be rereading many!), and I'm really looking forward to it. Also, another big public OMG I love you to [livejournal.com profile] chrisleeoctaves, who made this marathon so wonderful this year.

5. Also, big thanks to [livejournal.com profile] terilyn4 who nominated Best Souvenir for best WIP at the When The Sun Sets Awards. It was the first time a fanfic of mine got nominated for anything, and I feel truly honored.

6. I liked S/B on BtVS. Nevertheless, you won't see me reccing Spuffy very often. Now go read [livejournal.com profile] stultiloquentia's fic. It's just . . . fun. Like fanfic should be.

ETA: Stulti has just reminded me that we should hassle her non-stop for B/A pr0n. Go. Go hassle. (I've adjusted the link so you guys can read above the cut, the part where she says, "I have B/A pr0n; come hassle me chickies!")

7. Dear Granny, I am a slut. )

Today I was entertained by [livejournal.com profile] lillianmorgan's thoughts on writing within canon, as opposed to pre- or post-canon.

She talks about people's preferences, why they would choose to write one or the other, and the freedoms/constraints of each. (Then she asked what would happen if Xander, Illyria, and Lilah were in a room together, and damn, do I want someone to answer that question.)

Well, you see, the sky was so blue today and everything was so green and fragrant I just had to be a part of it. And the Untersberg kept leading me higher and higher until I wanted to go right through the clouds with it...

Cut for my private parts )

Because there's not enough mindless squeeing going on in them there parts, and we've been having very fine weather.

Title: Down There In The Reeperbahn
Length: Around 2,000 words again. Yay!
Rating: Hard R or NC-17.
Warnings: Um, everything? Slash, rape, and pedophilia but very non-graphic. Implications of incest, but strangely metaphoric. Um, cross-dressing? The kitchen sink.
Disclaimer: Uses dialogue from AtS S1.15, 3.8, 3.9, 4.1, and 4.22. Title is from a song by Tom Waits, also several ideas. Nursery rhymes gone wild.
Summary: Angelus, Darla, and a strangely androgynous man-child. Also, Drusilla.
A/N: 1. The Reeperbahn is a street near the Port of Hamburg historically infamous for prostitution.
2. This might not even be a fic. It's rhymey and strange, and, and, and, weird. It's not how I normally write at all. Frankly, I usually don't like this kind of writing, so this is out there for me. Probably you too. Who knows?
3. Much thanks to [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom for making me feel not as scared about posting it. Though am still nervousy. 'Cause as I mentioned? Strange.

Because it's almost 5am, and I still can't get to sleep.

[livejournal.com profile] stultiloqentia recently posted a drinking game for Spuffy smut fic. It's a list of words you're sure to have seen a time or two (except for, you know, gnomon). Of course, "cold dead seed" makes an appearance.

Also, a while back, [livejournal.com profile] kita0610 had an outing for the old schoolers who invented things like Buffy's vanilla scent. They're those things that get used again and again. And again.

And on [livejournal.com profile] stultiloqentia's list? I was surprised to realize I don't care how over-used it is, I still find the primal roar/whisper "Mine!" sexy. I also get turned on by Buffy's "tiny hands" (in Angel's broad ones), even though it's in every single fic on ff.net, the unsexiest place in the whole wide world.

I've managed to convince myself I'm not the only one.

So come on. What are those "I don't care how many times I see it, I still like it"s? Okay, it might be more of a "I don't care how many other people misuse it, I still like it if it's done right", but you have one, don't you? You like seeing Spike say "Da" or "Yes, Sire," or "Xanpet". You like Buffy's mossy green eyes and Angel's chocolate ones. You like it when _____'s mouth is like satin and ______'s spunk tastes like honey. You like it when Buffy finds out Angel married her without telling her when he put the Claddagh ring on her finger. You like seeing Angel spelled "Angle". What's your cliché-kink?

OMG!

I don't know anything about Emrys Journal--I mean, whether this is really a big deal or anything. But omg I'm going to be published! And now I'm off to make fried ravioli and spinach dip for the party. Damn, I need booze.

Oh, and I want to use this line: Excuse me, I have to call everyone I have ever met, right now.

Short B/A centric fic is currently kicking my ass, so I find solace in TV.

I recently watched season 1-3 of "24". A friend of mine who got me started in on AtS said it was a good show and brought me S1. I currently hate him for wasting my life. Also, [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom mentioned a) you could drive a truck through the plot holes, and b) nothing has any consequences, and c) it's still fun. She was right on all 3 counts.

Since I wasted 72 hours or something of my life watching it, I thought I'd share my opinions. Thus follows the good and the bad and the ugly of season 1-3.

Cut for spoilers for  )

Which is just my way of saying it was fun, not as good as anything touched by Joss Whedon, and omg I never knew Keifer was so hot.

All day I've been trying to think of something clever to say to wish [livejournal.com profile] stultiloquentia a happy birthday, and this is what I came up with: Happy Birthday [livejournal.com profile] stultiloquentia!!!!!!!

You are, of course, deserving of more wit and less exclamation marks, and for that I'm glad to know you.

I have questions. You have answers.

You = Radio Shack )

That's all I got.

Happy unHalloween. It poured here. I was so sad for the munchkins. Except for the seven year old with the purple velvet hat who claimed to be dressed up as Pimp Daddy. Pimp Daddy had no need of my pity. I gave him lots of Reese's.

I woke up today and thought it was the 23rd. Yes, I was excited about Mole Day. I was prepared to celebrate celebrate things like Avogadro and stoichiometry. Now all I have to be happy about is avocados and Elvis Stojko.

Today I enjoyed this post (scroll to the end), in which [livejournal.com profile] yhlee lists reasons why she loves BtVS/AtS characters. One of them is, "Why I love Angelus: it may never occur to him that in all the ways he destroys people it shows how strong they really are." Go read and miss your shows. *sniff*

Lastly, [livejournal.com profile] stultiloquentia and I recently discovered that we'd spoken online four years before under different names. That made me wish I hadn't changed my nickname things so much out of sheer boredom. The user name tkp is from the Kora Personality, which wouldn't fit on lj. Kora is another name for Persephone. I was having some twisted, uninteresting thoughts about the woman who spent half her time being queen of the dead and raped by the damned, and the other half frolicking in the flowers with Mama and nymphs. Anyway, I'm guessing this has been a topic of conversation before, so sorry if you've been over it before, but I've been wondering:

Where'd you get your user name?

Even if it seems obvious, I'd love to know. Also: why Joan?

A/N: Everything funny, atmospheric, authentic and accurate is [livejournal.com profile] a2zmom's. This woman did on site research for me. Twice. And she uh, wrote like half of this. Twice. So, much thanks, &tc.
